Gobind Singh stayed here for almost a year during 1705 to 1706 after his
last battle at Muksar. It was here that Guru Gobind Singh with the help
of his scribe Bhai Mani Singh prepared the final and current version of
Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Gobind Singh added to the existing version
prepared by Guru Arjan the poetry of Guru Tegh Bahadur. Due to his
great humility Guru Gobind Singh did not include any of his own poetry
in Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
